About Me

I am Anna Bellka. As my mother likes to call me. Currently a student at university, studying Multimedia Journalism. And I'll let you in on a little secret... Whoever said university was easy... WAS LYING. I have two blogs: One is an online diary type thing, one is a showcase of my journalistic work to date. Please feel free to take a look.

Chivalry IS dead...

Well a hefty 9 hours later and I make it home in just about one piece.

The long trip from Bournemouth to Blackburn was worsened by someone having a seizure on the train, a collision with a railway bridge and of course SNOW.

Merely a few hours later and Im back in the arms of my cats so to speak! Ha. I had to manuoevre round two cats last night in bed - SQUASHED is not the word. Though in all fairness, at least I feel missed!

Theyve been following me around all day - I feel like Iv got a couple of snoops on my tail!

Anyway, the title of this is a little rant about humanity. I know, I know. I shouldnt be ranting at Christmas time but I am shocked by the lack of help I received yesterday by ANYONE. I was trudging along with a suitcase and 2 big bags and not one person offered to help me. And this is not because I am a damsel in distress, this is respect for another living thing. If I saw ANYONE struggling - then I would like to think I would take the time to help them. Unless I am late for my train - in which case it's 'Move! Get outta my way!' Ha. Not really :)

I looking forward to Christmas and New Year though - I have already prepared (yet another) mental list of New Years Resolutions:

1 - Do not drink as much. Vodka ruined my life. In other words, I have lost and ruined too much stuff whilst drunk. In actual fact, I had to leave my room in Bournmouth with a failed attempt at noodle making remains on my floor due to the lack of time!!

2 - Quit smoking. Again. I am determined to see this one through. I quit for like a week cold turkey so I know I can do it. Plus I live on the 2nd floor in Bournemouth and I STILL have to get the lift. How bad is that? The amount of times random people have called me lazy when I get into the lift and get out at 2 when they are going to 10. Ha! Lung capacity is my excuse :)

3 - This is a serious one. It's to be the best I can be. In every possible respect. As a student. As a friend. As a daughter. I feel that, for too long, I have kind of neglected other peoples needs and put them on a back burner because anything bad or anything that involves a little bit of effort gets forgotten about. Not any more. I am paying for my education and I need to ensure I get the best out of it. Again, with friends and family. I need to look after them and I need them to be proud to know me.

That is all :)

If I don't have time to write beforehand then please have an amazing Christmas and a wicked New Year!!!
