About Me

I am Anna Bellka. As my mother likes to call me. Currently a student at university, studying Multimedia Journalism. And I'll let you in on a little secret... Whoever said university was easy... WAS LYING. I have two blogs: One is an online diary type thing, one is a showcase of my journalistic work to date. Please feel free to take a look.

'Tis nearly Christmas and Annabellka's getting fat...

Well.

To start with - as suggested with the title - I am putting on weight. A diet consisting of nothing but toast, noodles and cous cous does wonders for your wellbeing. NOT.

I went to court for some court reporting on Monday and was expected to dress smart and look sharp. I planned my outfit meticolously - Reporter's coat - check. Trendy glasses to make you look smart - check. 3 pens (incase they run out etc) - check. Notepad (which I almost forgot) - check.

So anyway, I ironed 3 shirts. One was a boring worky kind of blouse. One was a nice little short sleeved blouse and another was a puff sleeved grey and white stripy one. So I first tried on the grey and white stripy - IT WOULD NOT BUDGE PAST MY ARMS. It actually got stuck on my ACTUAL arms. I have never heard of that happening to ANYONE. EVER.

The second - the short sleeved white one. It got past my arms - woooohooo. Oh no. Don't celebrate just yet. I buttoned it up and I actually looked like Violet Beauregarde ( for all you Willy Wonka fans ) when she ate the gum that had 3 meals in one. No, not a blueberry. Well... possibly. But the about-to-explode look is not good on anyone.

I ended up having to wear the god damn wretched work blouse. Typical!

In other goings on recently - we had a few days of snow here. I like snow. In small doses. ie I don't like getting it thrown at me, I don't like slipping in it, I don't like how cold it is but to look at it's amazing and everything seems so much brighter as opposed to the usual doom and gloom in winter.

Nearly time to go home for Christmas too which should be exciting considering I haven't seen my Mother or dog and cats for quite a while. I miss them so much! I was given a fluffy throw (blanket type thing - I have to clarify the meaning as I told someone about my throw earlier, being that its the love of my life, and they could not understand what it was... They put it down to being a 'Northern Thing') by my work colleagues when I left and sometimes I snuggle it and pretend Im with my cats.. however other little blighters have cottoned on to the idea and I am gradually seeing a rise in Throw Theft.

Anyway I must get my beauty sleep. I have a 9am lecture and I am determined to attend!!!

  1. So, you've put on a little weight, that's what living in the 'tropical' south does for you. Never mind eh! You'll probably loose it come Spring.
AND, l'm off to my daughters, Stoke-On-Trent, for Christmas. She has two Staffys, and four pussy-cats. So, l'll be waking up every morn'in with all those on my bed......Bed......Pussy-cats.....Must be a joke there somewhere...!
Ah! well, hope you have a great Christmas, with your family, cats and dog. :0)
